All day long in Solo

I was invited for a trip to Solo last days. Then yesterday morning, we went to Solo by Prambanan Express. It was not my first time going to Solo by train. It was crowded by people so that we didn't get any seat. Yeah, it was weekend so I didn't wonder about it.

After we discussed about places we're going to go and what transportation we're going to use, and after Made and Dhea bargained with the rent car driver, finally we decided to go to Pasar Klewer for the first destination. Huff... you can imagine that a car type Espass which actually can load less than 8 people was filled by 11 people with big-sized people like Fey, Bey, Sony, and Radit... (peace guys!)

First destination : Pasar Klewer
Pasar Klewer is a traditional market which especially sells all about batik. I thought it was not too early to come but I don't know why there were many shops which were still closed. It's different with Pasar Beringharjo in Jogja which would be crowded at the same time. We just walked around the market but neither me nor my friends bought something. This place could be recommended for bargain hunters, hehe...

Second destination : Keraton Solo

Keraton Solo is a palace where the Empire of Solo Mangkunegaran lived in. The place is located some meters from Pasar klewer so we only required a walk. After being confused about where the main entrance of this place is, we finally got it and enjoy the museum of Keraton. There were many interesting objects here like Sumur Sanga which is a well where Pakubuwono IX usually does the ritual asceticism above it. People who believed said that the water have benedictions for life. Besides the well, an object which interested me was tge large yard inside of Keraton. We must wear shoes or put our sandals off if we want to come in. It showed that we had to be polite in this area. This place was so cool. Many trees made the yard leafy and we felt peaceful in it. The ground was fine-grained so it was really comfortable to step on without any foot wear.

Third destination : Galabo

Yeah, after we walked around enjoying a part of Keraton, we finally felt hungry. We decided to have lunch in galabo which is located near from Keraton and we only need a walk for some meters. Galabo is a food center where people can taste all kinds of food along the road. There would be more various foods at night. For lunch, I chose to eat Lontong Opor and Es Teller. I thought it was good menu in the afternoon when the heat of sun was in high level, ough... the taste was quite delicious and I had to pay Rp. 10.000,- for it. Mmmm, I think it was more than enough to refresh me...

Last destination : Solo Grand Mall (SGM)
After having lunch, we were confused about how we go to SGM. then the owner of that eating-place suggested us to go there by bus and it would be more comfortable and cheaper than by becak. Finally, we went there by bus and fortunately we got a bus with AC, hehe...
Solo Grand Mall is like an ordinary mall. We just walked around and looked for good things. Made and Dhea had found what their want then they bought it, but neither me. I couldn't find anything which interested me, but once I found a slipper with beautiful model but the price was 'wow'... I had to think thousands times to buy it now. I loved it because the slipper was suitable for my foot and made my foot look more beautiful, hehe... Maybe next time I'll buy it... Then we went to a photobox to take our picture. After waiting for quite long time because of the queue, it's our turn to express our narcissism!!! Ough... the box was very small so it seems like over-loaded. I could remember how crazy inside...

Solo Grand Mall was the last destination for our trip. Our trip to Solo was so exciting and I hope that there will be a next trip in other city...

Again, Petrology Field Trip

Saturday, November 29, 2008 Geophysics 2007 had a Petrology field trip for the second time. It was about sedimentary rocks, which are formed by deposition and consolidation of transported material which had been weathered. Our destination was Buyutan, Gedang Sari, Gunung Kidul where there were many interesting places to learn about rock types, especially sedimentary rocks. For the first, was about tuffaceous sandstone and then after lunch we continued our trip and found sedimentary rocks that consist of conglomerate, clam fossil, sandstone, and some igneous rocks... Then we went to different place to observe what we called ripple mark, washed out, load out, and graded sedimentary layer.

That's all, sorry for that little post because I am now not really keen on posting, just because of my flu, hiks...

Baby Ohh... Baby

Finally, the baby was born normally on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 1.20 pm. He is 28 kilograms and 45 centimeters. Alhamdulillah, both of the baby and mom were fine. He was my brother's first son, my mom's first grandchild, so my first nephew. My brother has given his name as Danendra Abyakta Kusuma Wardhana. The name has meaning that a king who is rich, kind, and charitable so hopefully the baby will be like that, has a good attitude and behaviour. It is good name, isn't it? He is so cute. Many people said that he is like my brother. Every day I visit him and exactly I am not bored to look at him every time and it's like I don't want to leave him. Thanks God for giving him for us, for my family... We promise we'll take care of him...

Petrology Field Trip : Ouuw yeaah...

Hmmm..
Long time no post..
Hahaha...

Okay, let me tell you a little about Petrology Field Trip which has been done by Geophysics 2007 last Saturday. You know, it's not a geophysics, geology, or other geosciences if we didn't go outdoor for a field trip : observing the stones, geological phenomenons, or something related to it. In this field trip, we observed about igneous rocks. Igneous rock is one of three rock types (besides sedimentary and metamorphic rocks) which is formed by cooling magma caused by volcanic activity. We had to recognize and describe the rocks and then tried to depict its origin and genesis. There were three locations of observation which were far separated from each other. The first location was in Tajem, where a temple which had not been finished to build was here, but the point was that there were pyroclastic rocks here caused by Merapi eruption in thousand years before. Then we continued our trip to Berbah, Sleman and we got a unique rocks that were called Pillow Lava caused by contact between cooling magma and water, and it happened in Mid Oceanic Ridge. So we could conclude that this place was an ocean in thousand years before. It amazed me... Next destination was Godean which is located very very very far from the first and second location. We had to ride motorcycle along East Ringroad to West Ringroad. Owh, that made me so weary... We got intrusion rocks here and some of them had been weathered. So, this is the end of our field trip...

Happy Ending OPMG 2008 : Totally Geophysicist...

Okay, after break for a quite long time, it's time to talk about STMJ as known as OPMG 2008. OPMG (Orientasi Pengenalan Medan Geofisika) is an introduction of all about Geophysics which is compulsory for new students every year. OPMG has 4 days, consists of 2 days for class session and 2 days for field session. This year, the field session was held in Kali Tengah, Cangkringan where we can do tracking, out bond, and camp for a night. OPMG is not only an orientation for new students but also become a kind of event which can tighten relationship between the junior and senior students as well as the graduates and some lectures of Geophysics.

As a part of this commitee, I was really tired but excited in organizing OPMG. And now I feel very happy because this tiring event has just been finished. Yeah, after we did a very long time process with many meetings, surveys, under pressure working which all spent a lot of our time, think, and energy just for OPMG 2008. As a result, it was successful and many people were quite satisfied with this event although there were still many lacks. At least we (the class of 2007) can prove that we are not like what some people think, but we actually have a good team work and strong unity in our class... (don't we?)

Mitoni

What is it? Yeah, mostly Javanese know what the meaning of mitoni is. It is a Java tradition which is kind of celebration/ceremony or something like that to thank God for 7 months pregnancy of a woman. This tradition has been done in my family yesterday. My sister in law has been being pregnant for 7 months and the family planned to thank God and share happiness with other people through this tradition. As a Java tradition which is full of symbols of life, mitoni has many ceremonies like sungkeman, siraman, milih ageman, dodol rujak/dawet, and etc that must be completely done which are symbols to expect something good in future, especially for the baby and parent. Ough, 2 months later I am going to be an aunt for my brother's baby. So that means I will be calles 'tante', and... do you think that I will look older because of it? I wish no... But I am actually really pleasant about it! I will enjoy taking care of the baby and have fun with him...

The Great Day Celebration

sungkeman

the grand children...

The first Lebaran day, the most important thing that must to do after sholat Ied is sungkeman. It means that we have to ask apology to our parent and grand parent. After that, we have to ask apology to each other especially to big family like brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, and cousins. In my family, this tradition is always done in my grandma's house where all of my big family came to gather and celebrate Lebaran. This year, they were not complete because some of them didn't come to Jogja with some reasons. But our Lebaran was still exciting like the years before with different situation of each person, new looks, and of course with delicious food and cakes (^^). I really love to gather with my family like this memorable sweet moment...

Happy Lebaran Day 1429 H !

I am as the owner of this blog want to say Happy Lebaran Day 1429 H!
From bottom of my heart, I would like to ask an apology. So please forgive me for all my mistakes...
May Allah gives us a soul free from sins and life that full of love, peace, and happiness..

In memories : Ketupad (KElas TelU iPa paPAD)

Memories

by Annabelle

Within my book of memories,
Are special thoughts of you.
And all the many nice things
You often say and do -

As I turn the pages,
And recall each single thought,
I realize the happiness
That knowing you has brought.

There are memories of the times we've shared
Both bright and sunny days.
There are memories of your kindness
And your friendly thoughtful ways.

There are memories of all those notes,
we would write back and forth,
When we would just get together,
And talk of this or that.

And when I recall these memories
As I go along life's way,
I find they grow more precious still
With every passing day.

Padmanaba 62 reunion

Some days ago, I got an invitation via comment of my friendster site that there would be a reunion of my senior high school especially for the class of sixty two (62). Definitely, I was so excited to come. It was held on Saturday, September 27, 2008. The conscripts of the Padmanaba 62 class had a reunion and breaking the fast together all at once. The reunion was simply held in hall of SMA N 3 Padmanaba Yogyakarta and was attended only by some graduates of this class (not until 100 people) so that it was not cheerful enough but still quite interesting. Yeah, I thought it was attended by them who mostly stayed in Jogja because some of the graduates have to go up stream to their each hometown (this time was close to Lebaran day). In spite of it, I was very enthusiastic and I really like to meet and chat with my friends again. Although we didn’t meet each other for a year, some of them looked little different than before but some of them still look the same. I wish the next reunion will be more exciting and more attractive.

Breaking the fast of Geophysics 2007

Monday, September 22 2008, the class of geophysics 2007 broke the fast together at my home on West Imogiri Street. Yeah, although not all of members of this class attended here (it's just 33 people), it was really fun and joyful. We even could share and laugh freely there. Thanks God for this happiness, thanks for sending great friends for me...

The launching of Geophysics 2007’s new jacket

Finally, the Geophysics 2007’s jacket has been finished to sew. The jacket was distributed yesterday and I could see how enthusiastic they were. I have received my jacket and I am quite satisfied with it. I like the design and the colors: black for formal and nice red for informal. I ordered the ‘S’ size for me and as the result, I am little disappointed because my jacket–arm part is too loose. I really want to repair this part but I don’t know whether it can be or not. Yeah, for me it is quite fine to wear though it can not be repaired.

Breaking the fast with HMGF

This event presented by HMGF UGM was held on Thursday, September 18, 2008 in the main meeting room of Science Faculty: A106. This event was attended by almost all of Geophysics students from 2008 until 2004 and some graduates of Geophysics. It was started at 5pm with the opening ceremony by reading aloud some holy Al Quran verses and then continued with kultum by our lecture, Mr. Imam. The kultum was too short because the time for breaking the fast had been no longer. Emm, I thought that was not common kultum because he just mostly gave critics about this event (yeah, sorry for those many lacks, Sir...). Then we broke the fast with a glass of tea and kolak and then continued with eating rice with toasted chicken and capcay. Hmm, that was delicious... We ate the food while watched such a discovery film. I was not sure that the people there were watching that film because they were busy with their food and mostly talked to each other (and me too). Well, I think it was quite successful and exciting although there were still many lacks of the committee in holding this event. I hope the next same event will be better and more attractive.

I got fever...

Last Friday night was not good time for me. Since Structural Geology class I felt so bad and no spirit inside. I just thought "Oh my God, hope this class will soon be finished!". Yeah, laying on the bed right now was very good idea. After the class and arrived at home, I went to bed soon because I felt my condition was not fit and so weak. Oh no, I got fever and little headache. My mom said that it was because I was too busy with my activities and too many things that I had to think about. Besides, she also said that I had drunk too much ice after the fasting (ough, I don't think so). Because of this fever, I was not fasting just because I had to drink the medicine. I also didn't attend the "Seismic Reservoir Characterization" guest lecture in campus next morning... Oh noo...
But I feel so much better now and I have to attend the OPMG meeting...

Keep the spirit! Yeaah...

Physics experiment trial (for assistant)

In this third semester, we are going to have a lab work which is being an assistant of physics experiment for the new students. Firstly, I was a little surprised when I knew that I had to be an assistant of Optics experiment especially Microscope and Light Dispersion because I had not got those experiments at first semester before. Last Monday, September 08, 2008 I practiced it in physics laboratory with my friend, Didi who also got the same experiment. Practicing Light Dispersion was easy and simple to do. We had to look for colors caused by monochromatic light which passes over the prism. For Microscope experiment, we had to practice three experiments but we got some difficulties at first experiment. This was not as simple as we thought. The difficulty was about finding the objective micrometer through the microscope. Yeah, I think it was actually simple but the fact we needed a long time enough plus the patience to get it! After we got it, we had to compare it with the ruler scale. The second and third experiment was quite fun. Very good sight is very needed in Microscope experiment, I think.
Fuiihh… Although it was only a trial, I have to make the report both Light Dispersion and Microscope experiment. And… I think that I still have to work harder to be a good assistant and get ‘A’ in this lab work!

Ough, beautiful...

Those pictures show us how wonderful and beautiful nature which God had made on our Earth. Those are only 5 pictures of million wonderful places on this Earth. Subhanallah…

My printer got problem

Ough! I often get problem with my printer. It was about the cartridge. I had changed it twice with the other. But my printer still did not work. I wondered why my printer always gets problem when I really need it to print all my tasks out. Oh, maybe I had to buy the new one. But oh no, the cartridge was so expensive. I thought that I had to save money to buy this. Fortunately, my brother brought cartridge from his office to be tried in my printer. I tried again and finally it worked! Yeah, in spite of the fact that the cartridge had ever used in my brother’s office printer, it still could be used though the ink was empty. Thanks mate, so I do not need to buy the new one.

Go to Depok beach

It was September 3, 2008. After college, my friends and I decided to look after one of my friend, Ghofar who had got motorcycle-accident in Magelang last Saturday. Ghofar was fine, but unfortunately his left mother toe must be amputated. Oh guys, I hope you’ll be better soon…
After that, we decided to go to Depok beach which is located near to his house. We were fasting so we thought going to the beach for ‘ngabuburit’ was a good idea ^^. As usual, we did something that was really must to do: taking photos ^^.
I think it was a sudden picnic that we didn’t plan before. But it was exciting enough.

Let’s write English…

I don’t know what kind of wind which makes me activate this blog again. Some days ago I just thought that I have to do something exciting which can improve my skill. So I think this blog can be good way to improve my skill, especially in writing English. Here I try to share my experiences, opinions, tips, or something in English. Yes. I am really going to try this. So let’s write in English…
